Topic. I downloaded QuickTime 7 a few years ago because back then it was needed to watch WWDC live. Why would anyone need QuickTime 7 today? Does it do something QuickTime X doesn't?

I just downloaded it a few months back in order to pull off some old camcorder video. Other than that, I don't use it anymore, hoever will hold on to it in case I find more old tapes.

If you are just watching video, there really isn't any need to keep QT7. But is does have more export and editing options (like save as...) than X does, so some people keep 7 around for that.

I still keep it around.
