Please tell me some options I am getting with my ATV2 over the Boxee Box besides price. What are my advantages and disadvantages.

Right now I have an ATV2, but I am thinking about buying a Boxee.

I do not rent/buy movies or tv shows from iTunes.

Things I need or at least things I want:

Netflix
Pandora
Youtube Videos with MY Favorites and Subscriptions
Video Podcasts i.e. Revision3, Twit, Ted, etc
Ability to play my Films, Movies, and Music off and External Hard Drive
Airplay and Airplay Mirroring
Play Music from External Hard Drive to my Stereo Receiver
Display Photos from External Hard Drive to LCD
ESPN, ESPNU, ESPN2, ESPN3
iHeartRadio
Vimeo
Legal (No IceFilms or Navi-X) Show Streams from Major Network Websites (ABC, CBS, FOX, BRAVO, DISCOVERY, etc)

I have both boxes. What's I like about Boxee is hooking up external HDD with the box. The rest I'm not so fond. As far as I could see, there is no Netflix though.

I am running Boxee on my MBP and have Netflix and it works great.

Is this only available on the Free version and not the Boxee Box?

Is it because Netflix uses Silverlight?

From what you have listed in terms of your 'wants' I would say that the Boxee Box (hardware) fits the bill. I have both a Boxee and ATV2, all of my content is downloaded and thus locally played on my network, I don't do anything with iTunes on the ATV2. I like the ATV2, but for some reason it has difficulty streaming my local content on my gigabit network whereas the Boxee does not.

So what are you using the ATV2 for that the Boxee can't do? Why have both?

ATV2 + XBMC = Perfect solution. The only disadvantages are minor. First, it outputs at 720p so 1080p content would be downscaled, and second you can't directly attach storage. However you can have a unified library across multiple units, which I don't believe is possible with Boxee.

Boxee supports Airplay Mirroring now? Last I heard only Airplay... would be great if it did mirroring too.

I bought the ATV2 mostly because I was curious about what it was capable of and I wanted to compare it to the Boxee, I rarely use the ATV2 now at all, in fact I'll probably sell it.
