Trying to figure out what might be up with my keyboard on my M1 iMac. I couldn't get it to work, so figured it needed to charge. I plugged it in and it worked fine. It stayed plugged into my iMac for a while, but just now when I tried to use it without it being plugged in, it wouldn't work. I plugged it back in, and it is working fine. The little square up top says my keyboard is wirelessly connected to my Mac, but it still won't work unplugged.

Does it not charge if the computer is asleep? I'm wondering if I should just charge it via a wall charger.

how is the bluetooth connect-abilty usually?
there could be a paring issue with the keyboard.
i used to re-"pair" my  BT keyboard regularly with the mac mini.
and
sometime an iPad will take over a BT keyboard, those sneaky things!

I guess it was something with the pairing - working now.

Thanks!
good, i can sleep tonite! (wink)
took me a while to type that reply since you are a regular and informative user.
and didn't want to insult your intelligence.

how is the M1 iMac?

Are you using an Apple keyboard or a third party device?

Personally, I use a Logitech with my M1 and a "few" (rather annoying) issues of not it not connecting...
