I just purchased a 10,000 mAh power bank with both USB-C and Lightning charging capabilities.
Product description says it can both charge and be re-charged by USB-C and Lightning.
It arrived with a 20% charge.

I could not re-charge the power bank using my new iPad Pro USB-C power adapter + the iPad Pro’s short, skinny USB-C cable. I tried a different USB-C cable as well.
I could re-charge the power bank using my Anker powerport USB charger + the new USB-A to USB-C cable that came with the new power bank.

Is there anything in the product description that could explain that?

That power bank uses the USB C quick charge standard, but the Apple adapter and iPad use the USB C power delivery standard.

Many devices support both standards, but it would appear that your power bank does not.

Thank you. Darn.

So much find print to read and understand with USB-C.

I started to buy all my accessories with USB-C PD since 2018 and they are gradually replacing all my previous power banks / chargers / cables. It's investment into future.

Quick Charge isn’t really a standard though, is it? Standards are usually set by a governing body. My understanding is that USB-C spec includes PD, but the Quick Charge was an extension of the standard made by...was it Samsung?

So Quick Charge is a commercially created extension toe the USB-C standard.

Maybe seems like making a mountain out of mole hill, but USB-C standard is already confusing enough to convey there may be more than one of them out there. ;)

That was similar to my assumption when I bought this.

I thought the Quick Charge thing was a nice feature but that everything with a USB-C charging port could be charged by the default way (which I now learn is called PD).

Similar to how my USB3 cables work with my USB2 devices too.

What USB-C powerbanks do you recommend?
