Why would someone buy a Samsung Android phone instead of iPhone? Has anyone heard from friends or relatives that bought Samsung Android phone and why would they do that? Any advantage that Android phone shows over iPhone?

It's a matter of personal preference. One man's phone is another man's poision. :p

I always wonder

Why people ask these questions in a iPhone forum if you like it then buy it see ya done. No phone is perfect for everbody that why the stores sell more then one model and differnt manufactures.

This kind of thread annoys me.

Why would they pick the iPhone? It's a great phone but its not the only great phone out there.

Personally I don't know whether the next phone I buy will be an iPhone. Some great competitors have started to really change how I look at the iPhone. It has so many restrictions, it's ridiculous.

Anyway. People have to get over the mentality that the iPhone is the greatest phone ever. It brought a revolution to the industry, now to reap the rewards from experienced phone manufacturers.

I have not used an Android phone before therefore I cannot comment on it. However, it seems that is getting popular as slowly but surely most phone manufacturers are coming out with Android OS. HTC has done it & SonyE is due to launch the X10 which uses the Android OS. Present OS is still on 1.5 & a 2.0 is coimng out soon. I am not sure about the availability of Android apps or rather the lack of it. When it come to apps, nobody can be the iphone. I must say that a lot of these iphone apps are the same & some are really junk.

Because they can get it on Verizon ;)

But seriously, the Droid is a pretty sweet phone, it doesn't have multitouch support (Android 2.0 does, but the Droid doesn't) So that means there won't be many as many games for it. That plus the fact that Android is based off of Java, which was not really built around performance applications, especially with a mobile processor.

But it does have pretty sweet docking capabilities, turning into a GPS or alarm clock/media player. And Google's new turn by turn system is free.

Some people may prefer it, as for me, I would have one if the iPhone didn't exist :)

There won't be any multitouch games for it, the DS and PSP don't have multitouch and yet, somehow, there are a couple of games for them.

Android 2.0, which is what the Droid is running, has the APIs to track multiple touches. So its perfectly capable of recognizing multitouch.

simple. different strokes for different strokes.

That's why there are different phones, cars, ovens, houses, jobs, etc.

Or perhaps it'll have MORE games, because it has lots of hardware keys that can be used as controls, instead of inferior and screen-blocking touch ones.

That plus the fact that Android is based off of Java, which was not really built around performance applications, especially with a mobile processor.

Depends on if they're using the hardware Java accelerator that most chips have now.

I love these threads. The iPhone isn't universal. Believe it or not, it doesn't suit everyone's needs/wants, nor should it.

There are also plenty who get little to no AT&T coverage in their area. An iPhone is pretty useless to those people.

I think they both have their +/-'s, but from reading lots of posts, some people downright hate AT&T, but like the iPhone. To most, Android is the closest thing to the iPhone in form and function.

Win Mob 6.5

Talking about gamees, winmo 6.5 has many games. The one that I truly enjoy the most is texas hold'em. Winmo 6.5 is a great phone and when combined with the HTC Diamond its even better!

Congratulations, you win a prize. You're the first person ever to say publicly that they like the HTC Diamond.

I don't know why you'd consider WM 6.5 a great OS. There are some serious deficiencies within the OS. No matter how HTC skins it you'll still see the old OS wheren go deeper. Virtually every major tech site has ripped into it. WM7 may be a different story.

Let's just make everyone little clones, they carry iPhones, jawbone bluetooth headsets, use Tomtom, ........ would this please you?

I love how the OP started this thread and then never posted again. Me thinks you guys (I guess me as well) are the victims of a troll. ;)

I seriously can not stand samsung and LG phones. LG is worse though, there phones all break. Anyways I would rather have a droid, HTC Eris or iPhone.

Worry about yourself and not what the next person is going to buy. As stated before the iPhone is not the end all do all of cell phones.
