If the screen to the iphone is off but the unit is not turned off will wi fi still continue to drain the battery? )wi Fi turned on of course) Thanks.

As said, not really. The phone goes into a low power mode, if you have it checking for mail it may activate it to do so, but thats all.

And FYI, Wi-Fi is more energy efficient than Edge. But if you leave Wi-Fi on ALL the time, like at work for example, and you are not using it but actively using Edge for data then you will see a drain since it will keep hunting for networks.
