I know IOS9 will not be out till Wednesday but those of you using Beta, has it worked if you have an AT&T unlimited data plan? I know in the beta agreement it states that it will only work on if you have a Mobile Share plan. I work in a building that has zero cell signal and to having the ability to make calls on wifi would be worth the move over to Mobile Share if this the case.

I didn't know it was stated anywhere that it would only work on Mobile Share plans. That's disappointing. And to answer your question, it has not worked for me at all. I have the unlimited data plan.
From what I gathered, you don't need a mobile share plan, but you DO need unlimited minutes. So as long as you have unlimited minutes, you can still have it with unlimited data. Unless they change that when they release 9 to the masses....
That sucks. To get unlimited talk under the Family Talk plan is $70. Looks like another way for AT&T to get users off the Unlimited plan. How many of you feel it's important to have Wifi calling? I know it's important to me for were I work. I just might have to change my plan. I can't see paying extra for unlimited talk when I already have thousands of rollover minutes. Every time Apple comes up with a new feature the cell companies find a way to hose us.

I have unlimited data and Wifi calling was turned on the other day with everybody else.
If you were calling on cellular, then you'd be making a... regular phone call.
I activated it but even though it's switched on it tends to turn off. Well at least it doesn't show its on currently I my display. Hard to say if it's working now.
What happens to me is the words "Wi-Fi go away from my carrier name and will randomly come back. I'm wondering when that happens am I not using wifi calling?
No, I said "cellular data". If you were using data for a VOIP call it would not be a regular phone call.
If you go into your iPhone cellular data settings there is a spot for "Enable LTE" and there are options for "data" or "voice and data". I'm assuming that wouldn't be a regular phone call.
I just want to know if it uses data from the data plan.

No. How would it? The whole purpose of Wi-Fi Calling is that you use it when you have no (or very low and unusable) cellular signal.

Also, VoLTE doesn't use data. A call using VoLTE is a regular cellular call.
VoLTE is VoIP. It does not use the circuit-switched cellular network (AKA regular cell call). It is pure data, although it's not counted as data used from your allotment.

Who knows why? The whole purpose of WiFi is to not use your cellular data but WiFi assist uses your cellular so when you are using bad WiFi it kicks over and uses cellular; this gets turned on without asking. It got turned on (not by me) on my iPad, and two friends iPhone 6s (one was an upgrade and one was brand new).
I also asked (not what you responded to, but what I was responding to; my comment was a clarification on a question to my original comment) because others were asking about their cellular signal strength affecting their WiFi calling (which makes no sense but neither does WiFi assist being on without specifically asking) so I asked...
