Hi,

Ever since I got my MacBook Pro 13 inch retina early-2015 (it now runs macOS Sierra), the wifi has been bothering me. Sometimes, out of the blue I lose internet connection even though the wifi signal is showing a strong signal. Turning wifi off and then on again immediately resolves the issue. It could be my router, but all my other wifi devices function fine - so I'm not sure.

Does anyone have any ideas? I would greatly appreciate your help. I tried using the search function but I don't seem to be able to find this exact issue (could be me )

Thanks.

Have you used the Wifi diagnostics? If so, what are the results/logs saying?
(hold ALT and click on the Wifi icon in the menu bar)

When in diagnostics, have you performed a scan?
(click WINDOW and SCAN)
  1. Are you 2.4, 5, or both?
  2. What channels are you using?
  3. What channels are listed as best?
  4. What is your RSSI and Noise stats?
  5. How much clutter is there in your area?
  6. How far away from the router are you when you have issues, and are you going through many walls?
  7. Does your Router use a unique name?
