Wi-Fi keeps turning itself back on after less than 2 hours

Every time I leave the house, I go to my control center and tap on the Wi-Fi icon. I understand that this is just a temporary thing and that the Wi-Fi will be turned back on the next day.

The problem though is that every time I pass by these 2 coffee shops in particular, I'd get a notification similar to this, with my Wi-Fi icon in the control center flipping back to blue again! Is this working as intended?

Yes. It’s Apple’s Ai improving your life.
Turn off Wi-Fi in Settings instead of Control Center and it won’t automatically turn back on.

That setting only disconnects you from your current WiFi (until the next day). If it senses a different WiFi it'll try to connect to it.
