I hope this is the right forum to post this, if not feel free to move it.

I recently created a simple RSS widget for my Webcomic based on Apple's sample RSS widget. When I submitted it to Apple's Widget download page it asked me to specify whether it was Universal or not. I couldn't find any information on whether the sample rss widget was Universal and looked around Apple's site and couldn't find any info either.

The widget, as far as I know is just a bunch of xml files with some css and javascript. I didn't think Universal or not applied to Web stuff. I said that it was PowerPC when i submitted it simply because I didn't know. If it is indeed Universal then I'd like to change it once the link goes live. If it's not Universal, I'd like to find out how to make it Universal. The widget was created on a PowerPC Mac.

Has anyone here had experience with this? How do you know if a widget is Universal or not? If you want to look at it the widget is located here http://helios.jdmsphoto.com/widget.html. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was under the impression that as long as a widget didn't use any non-web stuff (ie. some widgets use Objective-C/Cocoa) it was automatically Universal. Javascript, XML and CSS aren't compiled, so they should work on any architecture as long as the OS supports them.

I tried it on my Intel Mac and it ran just fine, just like all the other widgets I've tried. There was certainly nothing to indicate that it wasn't running natively.

That's what I thought too, but I thought I'd ask around just to be sure, since I'm just a Web and graphics guy, not a programmer. Thanks for checking out the widget and for the help.
