These are supposed to be normal full color photo previews…

It’s all on developers to fix their apps by the time release candidate version is ready, it is why beta exists and why right now only people with developer accounts can install it.

There can be many bugs like this one, and with every beta there comes Feedback app. You can submit the issue there, it will help fix it by September

My understanding, from Widgy and other developers, is that there is currently no ability to separate the application of tinting to icons and widgets. It’s all or nothing.

I left feedback regarding this during the IOS18 beta cycle. Please leave your own feature request. The more the merrier. I can’t imagine that this issue wasn’t identified during development. But then again..

I could imagine they don't want apps overriding colors just to "stand out", the same way that many apps have abused notifications as a way to get your attention for nothing

While I do understand that, the way the setting works now renders most 3rd party widgets unusable in anything other than Dark or Light mode. Obliterating my color indicators for calendar source in my Widgy agenda widget is certainly not a desired result.

The photos widget has an option to always show full color. I’m sure other widgets will have this option come full release. It’s a BETA!
