Wierd MBP screen defect

I haven't seen this on this forum yet, so I thought I post it over here.
It seems to me my screen has a loose contact somewhere which results in some strange stuff.
Sometimes when I open mij MacBook Pro screen, or adjust it's angle, the lower 2/3rd portion just hangs. When I move the screen a bit more, it goes back to normal.
It started happening about a week ago, but it's getting more frequent.

Your guess seems right and it's highly probable that a trip to where you bought it will be needed, or to a certified Apple service centre. Is it still under warranty?

Hmmm, that is really strange! I would certainly take it into the store to have one of the geniuses check this out. Sounds like you may need a replacement screen, hopefully it's still covered under warranty and that you didn't damage the screen (accidentally).

Yeah, I bought it in June, here in Holland it should have a warranty of al least a year...

Does it go if you tap the screen?
I have the same problem on my PowerBook, that's out of warranty, I've put it down to some dodgy connection in the screen/lid.

My guess (based on m PC days) is that it is the video card and not the screen. The screen is working (there's an image at least) but it isn't drawn correctly.

Then how can it be, that the problem shows and goes away when I tilt the screen?

I suspect there's little chance of a faulty video chip since manipulating the screen affects the problem. But if you want to make sure, you could try connecting an external monitor and see if the same problem appears on the external. If not, then in all likelihood the problem lies in the screen or perhaps the display cable.

That is wierd, I would take it to an Apple Store to see if they can fix that.

Bioshok sure does rock, but with only the top third portion of your screen available there's no fun playing
