Has anyone tried swapping out the m.2 factory wifi/bluetooth card in the 2017 MacBook Air with a newer gen (wifi 6e) card? Laptop is running open core legacy version of Sonoma.

The only cards that are compatible are those broadcom cards that came with the MBA 2017. There is the option to use a USB WiFi dongle, but that depends if that dongle then has drivers for the MacOS.

The card in the Air is not easily replaced because of the proprietary design on the card slot on the motherboard.

What speeds are you currently getting over WiFi?

I have a 2015 Air with 8 GB and get 400 down/300 up with the Air sitting on the 1st floor and access point in the basement.
