Is it possible to connect to my server files using wifi, without the use of an Ethernet cable?
Generally speaking, in a home environment, you can do this, because the Ethernet and WiFi connections are on the same network.

I am no expert and i have idea what kind of details so you can be abel to help me!

No its a corporate network
You will need to discuss this with whomever administers that network then. There could any number of reasons this is not working, and you need to know the details of its configuration.

But in general terms, is what im asking something possible?

Yes --- assuming:
That wifi is available through the corporate network, and
Connection to the server is available through the wifi connection, and
You have permission to access the servers.

As mentioned above, you will need to talk to whoever takes care of IT about your question.
If your IT says "No, you need a wired connection (ethernet) for the server", then that's the other reason that you will need to verify that. Then, the answer will be "no, wifi connection is not possible"
We can only guess from here, but if you suspect (in your post #1) that your network won't allow access to the server through wifi, it's possible that you are correct.
