So I'm sitting here on my couch and my phone showed I had a voicemail. I went to check it and with one bar it won't download, nothing unusual.

I was thinking, (scary) what if there was a way we could operate the phone over wifi. Basic functions such as wifi texting, wifi phone calls, wifi anything that will only work with service would be nice. I understand there are apps out there that can do this, but what if it was built-in to the factory apps?

Vonage is only good for outgoing. and textfree unlimited just isn't acceptable.

I don't see how this could hurt AT&T really. They already offer Mark the Spot so they admit they need help. Wifi is a good easy out for them because it takes pressure off their already crushed data network. So why not implement this into the phone.app or the messages.app

The whole purpose of cell phones is to use them while being out or on the go and the user would be using the data network most of the time anyways. I don't see people lessening their plans if this were implemented.

Someone pinch me and tell me I need to wake up.
