I have this simple question about wifi assist that I can't seem to find the answer to.
If I have cellular data explicitly turned off for a specific app (like Safari or Facebook) under the "use cellular data for" section, but I have wi-fi assist turned on, which will take precedence? In a weak-wifi situation, will my phone use cellular data to maintain a connection for those apps, or will it honor the explicit "no cellular data for this app" choice that I have made?
The obvious answer is that it shouldn't ever use cell data for an app for which I have explicitly turned cell data off, but knowing Apple, wi-fi assist probably takes precedence. Please tell me which it is. Thanks.
I like the idea of wi-fi assist, but not for those apps that I have explicitly prohibited from using cellular data.
