Hi, my router seems to drop the wifi connection randomly and this disconnects my mbp from the network - how can i have my mbp automatically try to reconnect to the network? at the moment my mbp just stays disconnected and doesn't try and re-establish the dropped connection.

Go to System Preferences --> Network.
Then select "Airport" and then click the tab to select "Preferred Networks". Then add the network you want to connect to automatically when in range (note the order of the list, highest up the list is the highest priority).
