Wifi better in 10.10.1

Hi,
With my late 2013 15" rMBP I am still having 5 GHz drops at high channel numbers--though the frequency is less. Lower channel numbers (I am using 48) seems to provide the most consistent connections. As before, my early 2014 11" MBA works fine on all channels.

If you Google Bluetooth WiFi interference several docs come up, seems that WiFi defers in a congested environment so if BT and WiFi are competing, WiFi will slowdown due to resends etc. The saving grace is that typically BT transmits much less infrequently than WiFi, hence historically a BT transmitter has had to be both close AND sending large data amounts before WiFi sees much impact.
Yosemite introduced Handoff which has BT implications - I think this is why the sudden increase in WiFi impact because of the OS upgrade, the newer OS is simply using BT to shift more data around, hence it is impacting WiFi more. I'm using a non-handoff capable MBP, no WiFi impact. Lots of users reporting issues on the latest rMBPs and MBAs - all of which are much more likely to have Handoff-capable devices using the BT band.
So a sensible diagnostic if you are having WiFi issues with Yosemite but previously had no issues with Mavericks etc may be to disable Handoff, not disable BT.
The new Yosemites update hasn't fixed my WiFi issue either 
After the laptop has been asleep, I'm unable to connect to my WiFi at home. It will show other networks, but I cannot connect to them.
I have to power cycle (turn the Wifi on and off) until it will connect to my WiFi.
I know it's not a network issue because my iPhone 5s is sitting next to me, connected. My Nexus 7, connected.

Have been suffering from slow loading times for web pages and connection drops. seems the issues are still there.
Same here man... unless I turn off Bluetooth my internet speed crawls
Some interesting stuff:
Bluetooth off + Handoff (on or off - does not make a difference) = Regular speeds (avg 11.5 down out 12 max)
Bluetooth on + Handoff off - Slow internet speeds (avg 1.9 down out of 12 max)
Bluetooth on + Handoff on - Extremely slow internet speeds (avg 0.3 down out of 12 max)
OP - I think you should re-title your post
With BT OFF there is no opportunity for Handoff to generate BT traffic so WiFi should be unimpeded.
This should have been the Mavericks and before situation, BT is being used to talk to peripherals but not for Handoff. Is this WiFi speed "normal" for you?
Yep, so my hypothesis is that Handoff generates additional BT traffic which generates additional interference with WiFi - do you have any iDevices enabled for Handoff?
It would be interesting to find if active Handoff devices were present to generate this additional traffic or whether even if polling for Handoff devices is enough to degrade WiFi?
This expains how an OS update breaks WiFi when the previous version was fine - it hasn't broken WiFi per se, it has generated additional BT traffic to support the new function - and that interferes with WiFi to a previously unseen extent.
Hard to see why this wasn't picked up in testing (perhaps their test environments aren't as WiFi polluted as the real world), especially given the <cough> 10-12yrs knowledge of the effect of BT interference on 2.4GHz WiFi networks....
On my Macbook Pro Retina (13 - Mid 2012) I had no wifi issues before 10.10.1 (once a day i'd have to disconnect and reconnect)
Now after updating to 10.10.1, I'm finding after every other website i'm disconnecting and reconnecting.
Also the main irritating bug I was facing (computer freezing) is still happening very frequently.
Having to change computers now as it's just not worth the effort.
