can anyone tell me if there is a setting in ios9 that allows you to prefer wifi over cellular while you have wifi calling enabled? I live in a fringe area and drop calls constantly because even though I have wifi calling on, my iPhone 6 will switch to the faintest edge signal, then drop the call and go to wifi.

On my carrier, if you have 'Wifi Calling' turned on and wifi is fast/strong enough,
it switches as soon as you are connected.

Yes, mine does to. The problem is, as soon as there's even a faint cell signal, it'll switch from wifi calling to the cell network. Of coarse the cell signal then fades and it'll go back to wifi calling. The only way I've found to kept this from happening is to put the iPhone in airplane mode and turn wifi on. It's just a pain to do this every time I get home. Android phones allow you to "prefer wifi" over cellular.

It should be the opposite. Whenever it detects reliable Wi-Fi, it uses the Wi-Fi calling over cellular. I have T-Mobile and I get 2-3 bars of signal throughout my house but as long as I am in range of my Wi-Fi network, it always says T-Mobile Wi-Fi.

That's not how it's supposed to work. It should always favor Wifi, unless it's not fast enough.

Yeah that would be a stepback, I'd turn on Wifi calling until there's a fix.

I think I'll head to TMO later today and get one of the cell spot routers. I have a solid wifi setup, but there's prioritizes wifi calling. Thanks guys.

The OP is completely wrong about how wifi calling works on the iPhone. I've been using for months on EE in the UK and it always prefers wifi over cellular.
