Does anyone have a suggestion where to buy a pcmcia wifi card that is compatible with Mac. I know of one company but is cheap looking and made of plastic any other suggestions.

Well... for what kind of Mac? PowerBooks and iBooks since 2000 have all had internal wireless slots, so your best bet there would be to locate an Apple-branded card for it.

Before 2000, there were the Lucent WaveLAN cards, Proxim Orinoco, and Proxim Skyline. Three excellent choices.

If you have a really old PowerBook (190, 5300, 1400, 2400, 3400) your best bet would be a Lucent WaveLAN Gold or Proxim Orinoco Gold.

D-Link has a Mac Compatible section on their website. How old is your mac? Most should have included an Apple Airport Card.
