iPhone Wifi Connectivity Problems

I have an iPhone 4s, and with all the updates in iOS 8 it just stopped connecting to wifi... whenever you try to connect to a network it says "incorrect password". I looked through tons of forums and a lot of people had the same problem but for almost a year now I haven't been able to find a solution.

With this update, is that going to be fixed? Some people seemed to blame iOS 8, so is it possible that 9 will some how fix this problem, or am I just totally screwed?

Do you have any specific suggestions? I feel like I've tried literally everything, it's beyond frustrating!

Well, there's resetting the phone, resetting network settings, resetting all settings, down to restoring the phone (and perhaps not putting back a backup and just trying it out clean and new to see if that works). Does it happen with any wifi network or perhaps a particular one (in which case perhaps resetting that one or changing some settings on it might be worth a try). If it's a hardware issue of some sort that would be more complicated and taking it to Apple to get it checked out might be worthwhile (and even then it's hard to say what could come out of that).

but u dont state any info about the router & its settings or say if its works or not when wifi security is off, just blame ios right away..tons of people use wrong invalid wifi security setting that is wpa2 TKIP &/or TKIP+AES make sure its using wpa2 with AES only or wpa/wpa2 with AES only. dont use wep either. also dont use wps either, its just more problem causing garbage

2.4ghz channel? is it 12 or 13? tried others?

I appreciate the time and everything but unfortunately I've tried everything you listed short of bringing it into the Apple Store. If this software update doesn't fix it, that's the only option left I guess.

Yeah I'm certain it's not my network that's the problem. It's a WPA2 network and what's worse is that it won't connect to any network anywhere. I'm starting to convince myself it's a hardware issue haha.
