Wifi disconnect after sleep

So I know it's supposed to be a battery saving "feature", but upon resuming from sleep mode (assuming it's been asleep for a minute or so), it drops the connection.

Well aside from the fact I would like it to keep the connection in sleep mode, it takes a really long time to reestablish the connection. What gives? The iPhone has the same approach, but quickly reestablishes it's connection.

Check that, it doesn't seem to ever resume the connection unless I force it to. What gives?

It could be a router issue? I haven't had a problem with reconnecting after sleeping.

But I have 3 other idevices, none with this problem.

I still get emails when it's asleep? Check to be sure you have push notifications enabled.

I don't have email setup on it and not planning on it. Maybe it needs that? It won't ever reconnect unless forced.

Did a hard reset and that fixed it.

Mine is doing this too. What's a hard reset?
