Wifi doesn't autoconnect

My wifi shuts off when my phone goes into sleep, after I wake it up I just have edge. I would have to go into settings and select my wifi network to get it again. This didn't happen before

But how do you know WiFi is off? Is the setting actually off or is it simple not showing in the status bar (blue E instead)?

The setting is on, I know the wifi isn't on because after the phone come back from sleep the iPhone would show the E for edge on the top left corner. I have the phone since launch and it didn't have this problem. I just notice this problem a few days ago.

try going into settings>general>reset>reset network settings. I used to have this same problem and doing this did the trick for me.
