Anyone know of a USB wi-fi adapter that's compatible (or has drivers compatible with) OS Sierra without problems?
Can I ask why you need one? Does the factory adapter not work anymore?
Hi stridemat. I've a MacBook Pro early 2008 and installing Sierra works flawlessly except that there is no driver for the Airport WIFI card. I need Sierra because I work with Pages and I need the new version 6 (and also the future updates). Apparently there is no way to use the Kext from El Capitan, so I would need an external WIFI adapter.
I have a TP Link TL-WN725N in my desk draw. That seemed to work ok once I installed the bata 10.12 package from their website.
Can you not change the internal card to a supported card?
I dont know how hard it is to get to your card of course.
I changed the card in my 2007 macbook pro after it failed.
Try the netis WF2120 usb as says mac 10.4 to 10.10
Will try on my sierra machine for you later today.
I have installed and worked well on a 10.6.8 macbook air after a failed airport card
Sadly the netis did not work in my sierra.
Yes when i upgrade my imac at home the wifi will stop as it has a BCM94321MC card which is not supported
There are cards for my imac that will work in sierra im going to replace it when I do the ssd upgrade.
there must be one for your macbook, ar5bxb92 is one for my imac so maybe find one for macbook?
If you're not comfortable taking your MacBookPro apart, then a USB adapter is your best choice. You won't get the unlocking with apple watch working with a USB adapter though.I don't know if there are cards for my MacBook Pro early 2008 that are also compatible with Sierra. I think a WIFI adapter is an easier choice...

I have the 17" MBP and the mCard 2 from QuickerTek works great in mine: http://www.quickertek.com/products/mCard.html
Another user tried the mCard 3 (3 antennae), but it's a little thicker, so produced a bit of a bulge in the top case.
this is what you might need.

from lowendmac.com:
"There has been an issue with some of the Apple AirPort hardware in older Macs, but other than that, it’s pretty much clear sailing. The AirPort support depends on which WiFi module your Mac uses. If it is not the Broadcaom BCM4321, you’re set.
Other issues include the trackpad in the 2009 MacBooks and loss of volume control on the Early 2008 iMac. Details below."
this seems to be only card not supported
