I own a mid 2011 iMac which is running the latest operating system. I have noticed the past month or so the wifi connection drops and drops a lot. I can get the connection back from switching it off and back on. I never had problems prior. My computer sits about 15 feet from the router. A clear path. All other devices on the network work fine.

Has there been any known issues like this? That people have read or heard about?

Thanks

I also experience this every now and then, especially when waking it up. I'm on Yosemite so this bug doesn't seem to be that new.

Hmm okay. Maybe I’ll run a looong Ethernet cable and see what happens or doesn’t or I could try a wifi USB dongle. Experiment.

Happened on my mac mini after upgrading.

There is some firmware you can reset (not PRAM, but i can’t remember what) that might fix it.

Might as well run ethernet between the router and the iMac.
Then you won't be bothered by such problems again.
