WIFI iPad in NYC

I'm going to visit NYC from 3rd to 10th of May and I really want to buy me an iPad.
I'm looking for the wifi model and was wondering if anyone know if it will be possible to find one in manhattan? Or are they completely impossible to get a hold of?

Sorry for bringing up a question that has been asked before. I know it's hard to say, but again, if anyone could give me some hints of how the situation is like. Then I can finally sleep at night

Here in indiana, its really hard to find one i feel like. Best buys shipments get sold out within hours. Apple stores are out. Have reserved mine for 3 days now.. still waiting. But I bet there would be more opportunites in NYC then here. You might jsut get lucky

Thing is, the situation changes daily, so what's applicable today isn't likely to be the case on May 3rd, when you're in NYC.

What I would do if I were you, ... first thing in NYC, go to an Apple Store and put your name on the in-store reservation list. New shipments of iPads go first to people on that list. When your name is on the top of the list, and the store gets a new shipment of iPads, you'll be notified via email and have 24 hours to pick it up.

I don't think you'll have a problem getting the wifi model. We have 5 Apple stores here. I asked at the Soho Apple store if they had any in stock this weekend and the salesperson said they had all three models.

Best buy was out however--and no one has the Apple case as far as I know.

Now that's good news! Guess I just have to wait now

I went with my friend to the 5th avenue store yesterday, and he just walked in and bought one. The guy helping us told him they got shipments in every day and had plenty in stock of every model.
