I have a wifi ipad and a 2G ipod touch. I connected both to my work wifi and pulled up the maps application. For some reason the ipad locates pretty accurately, while the ipod touch locates me down the street. Is there an explanation for why this might be?

Give it a second then check it again, might jump. For me, the iPad kept jumping from my house, to my neighbors, to the house across the street, then back to my house, then three houses down, then the street behind mine ...

I wifi iPad is dead on with the GPS location. I have'nt tried it in the car, only at home. But don't know if its using my IP address to determine the location, or actual GPS.
