Wifi Ipad Tethering options? Verizon,Palm pre??

I'd like to start some discussion on the best ways to tether your iPad. I am on Verizon and use a Blackberry 8530 - cannot tether my iPad with this phone.

Been looking very strongly at the Palm Pre deal they are offering. But am hearing conflicting infomation.
5gb cap?
Call quality is so so.
phone is not reliable, freezes up

what are some of your experiences with this phone.

What are some other options for me being a Verizon user?

and what are other options besides the $60 a month MiFI deal?
