So just got my new 14" MBP today and turned on Private Relay (like I had on my 2019 MBA), pulled up Safari and noticed that download speeds were SUPER slow. So I pulled up Speedtest and saw my internet speed was beyond slow. So I turned off Private Relay and my speed went back to normal. I don't have this issue on my Air. Anyone experience this and know what to do to fix? I want to use Private Relay.

I have experienced slowdowns to the point where I though that my internet connection was not working on both my 2019 iMac connecting by ethernet of FiberOptic gigabit service and WiFi, as well as with my 2020 M1 MacBook Pro over WiFi at home and at work since it was introduced. Both Mac are running on the latest versions of Monterey.

Yeah it slows down my 2021 MBP 14" significantly (20-30%) on my gigabit connection.

What I'm trying to work out still is whether Private Relay impacts non Safari browsers on Mac OS

I notice (I think) that my downloads get dropped regularly with Private relay on.
