WiFi not connecting iPhone 1st gen firmware 2.2

Hello fellows,

I have JB my iPhone many times and had no problems afterwards..but something is baffling me. Yesterday, I upgraded to 2.2 on my iPhone 1st gen. Everything went smoothly. I added my old Cydia apps nothing too wierd like BOss Pref, Winterboard, Snapture, stuff like that. My Edge works and there is NO glitches..I love this firmware..
But, for whatever reason my WiFi connection doesn't work...I thought it was my router at home - it just can't find it - i used it Sunday no prob. I work where there is free WiFi and it doesn't find it either..

Does anyone have any ideas...my last resort would be Restore but I was hoping for some help..

and another thing..I reset my Network Settings which erased my edge settings for T-Mobile...yet, I can surf the internet and get mail..but it doesnt tell me that I am connected to wifi - my iphone is sucking some juice too ...wierd huh?

nope...it didnt work...I went and did a full restore and it is worse...battery drains like a mother... 2.2 sucks!! arghhh

So tell us how you did it? Did you just do a full restore and jailbreak? Which one is better of use, Quickpwn o Winpwn?

I have a 2.1 on my 1st gen Iphone debating whether I should update or not.
 
to continue...I erased all settings and restored the phone again then quickpwn'd it...I have the exact same result -

1) considerable battery drain
2) no wifi - cannot locate sites

it works extremely well no glitches except for these...

i will restore to 2.1 and see if it has to do with phone itself..

other than that, oh well!

anyone else have these problems - i can live without the wifi but the battery drain is incredible - yes, i erased all settings and did full restore with another computer but 2.2 sucks for me...
i erase all network settings but edge works without the APN being entered-just plain weird...

so frustrated!

any ideas guys again...??

I had problems with the dev team file for quickpwn. Downloaded another from iclarified and it worked great.
imo the battery life is a little better in 2.2

If you update to 2.2 from itunes it will remain unlocked, but wont be jailbroken any longer.
