I'm on Vodafone via their router and have 5G. After upgrading to Big Sur I have noticed that on 5G I have a slightly weakened signal but 4G is OK. I'd rather use 5G. How can I get the full signal back?

You are confusing cellular standards (4th generation and 5th generation) with Wifi standards (2.4GHz and 5GHz). I would not be too concerned with the signal strength depicted in the wifi icons. What matters is how fast data can transfer, not how many bars you have. 5GHz signals are shorter range than 2.4GHz signals because they lose strength faster as they pass through walls/objects. But 5GHz transfers data inherently faster.

Many thanks. Tis true, I'm, easily confused. However, you are correct in thinking that my transfer and connection speeds are OK, so I'll ignore the icon.
