All the buildings on my college campus say that they have WiFi, but when I start up my computer and try to get online there, it just says I'm not connected to the internet. It gives me the option for a few computer to computer networks too, but I just can't seem to get online. Any ideas?

What computer do you have? The Aluminum ones aren't known for their wireless reception range...

Your college network might use proxy servers which you'll need to put into your network settings to get on the net. Ask whoever manages the college network.

I agree with McKellar. Most likely you'll need a PAC file to get customised proxy settings. Talk to IT administrators about where you can get this PAC file. Once you have it, open a new location so it won't interfere with your regular network/internet settings.
