This just happened recently, after I turned on Bluetooth for the first time. Usually, when I turn the phone on from sleep mode, a message pops up that says it detects wifi signals; only if it was on the EDGE network the night before. When I put it back to sleep mode for the night, the next morning, after I turn it back on, the phone is still on WiFi mode. However, after I started to use my Bluetooth headset, Wifi doesn't automatically gets noticed by my phone anymore, unless I manually go to Options menu. Even when I leave the phone on WiFi when I turn it off on sleep mode, it switches to EDGE when I turn it back on after a few minutes. Anyone knows if this is normal?

I'm not using bluetooth on the phone, but I have noticed that when I'm at home and the phone wakes up from sleep mode, it indicates that it's on Edge for the first few seconds and then hops on my home wifi. But I've assumed this is a standard battery-saving move. Since all it needs to do when sleeping is periodically check for e-mail, I'd rather have it save the batteries by using the Edge connection for that purpose.
