I gave up goggling this as there so many different recommendations for different things so maybe someone experienced may be able to help:

Phone: iphone 6 on IOS 8.0.2
Macbook Pro running latest mavericks, everything up to date. no firewall software

The phone and the mac is on the same router using the same mhz.

The phone can see the computer when I open iTunes and I can push to sync.
The computer does not see the phone unless I manually push sync on the phone.
The computer does see my iPad just fine.

So my phone won't automatically sync by opening up iTunes. Does anyone have a solution?

Same issues here. Apple will have to fix it. I believe its the latest iTunes.

I tried using the trick to disable, sync, shutdown, sync, enable, sync and it works for one day as others have seen. I'll wait for the fix. Hopefully a jailbreak is not released on 8.0.x
