The iPhone will not recognize my Mac Mini to sync wirelessly with iTunes. iPad works great, automatically syncing when I plug power cable in.

Any ideas?

Same deal here, though wifi sync DID work last night but not this morning. Wonder if it is a bug w/ my Mac going to sleep and than waking up? Not sure.

Not here at least. My mac mini is awake and the iPhone won't recognize it..

I have the same problem with both my iPhone 3GS and my iPad 2. They can't see my MacBook (Late 2008), and my MacBook can't see my iOS devices unless I plug them using the USB port. Concluding, I can't make the Wifi Sync feature work in any way. Anyone can help me/us?

Thanks in advance

edit: Yes, I've checked the option to allow Wi-fi Sync in iTunes for both iPhone and iPad (on the Summary tab, i think).

Having same problem

My iPad 2 can't see my iMac when I try to sync wirelessly. I've enabled the wireless sync on the summary area of iTunes.

Sync died on both phones

Sync worked 1 time, then completely died... it's crashing iTues at stage 2 when it tries to sync music. same thing happens via Wi-Fi and in the USB dock... it has to be a major bug with iTunes.

Weird thing was my iPhone was showing in iTunes as a connected device. I didn't 'eject'. I verified looking at both the iPhone and the Mini that nothing at all was happening. My iPhone was just searching for the Mini, and that was that.

Same thing happened when I initiated from the mini to the iPhone. Just sorta tried for awhile and than did nothing.

Both are on the same network.

Same Issues

My iPhone 4 does the same thing. It shows up and is recognized but it won't sync. It won't WiFi Sync with the iPhone plugged into the wall, same network and it won't do a normal sync either. My notes, calendar, apps all sync but my music and videos won't. Also, I can't even do a restore to a back-up because it says Error-54. This started happening after installing iOS 5 last night.

It goes through the steps of syncing but then it just cancels automatically. I haven't touched a thing. I tried restarting the phone and iTunes but still nothing.

Hopefully Apple addresses this sooner than later as it's obviously a problem. It's one of the cooler features of the new OS and I'm surprised they let the final release out with this bug. (searching google leads to many people who had the same problem on DR and Beta releases).

Same problem here. Wifi sync worked few times correctly with my iPad 2, but not anymore, and it didn't work at all with my iPhone 3GS.

Yep,

Not working on my ip4 ,my wifes ip4 and not my ipad2 stopped working as well.:mad::mad::mad:

iPad / iPhone are working for me both last night and today. My gripe is with the 128kbs AAC syncing (shows my device as 5.6GB over capacity! when I tried to add additonal tracks)

WiFi syncing was fine. I'm using OSX SL.

Mine was fine until this AM. I have no idea ...

OK, I just had some some success messing around but I don't know if it will last or not.

I connected both devices (iPad 2 and iPhone 4) to itunes via usb and deselected the option "sync with this iPhone/iPad over wifi" then hit apply.

Then i disconnected and reconnected via USB. Then I reselected the sync over wifi option and hit apply again.

That worked for both devices. Both are syncing over wifi but again.. we'll see how long it works for.

Just out of interest, put your Mac to sleep for a few hours, bring it back to life, and see if it still works.

I began to do what you did, deselected sync over wifi, and then ejected and plugged it back in to reselect it. but that didn't come up. instead, it said i needed to restore it but it isn't even allowing it to be restored from a backup. do you know that if I "restore as a new iPhone," will it delete all my messages, notes, apps, etc? Thanks.

p.s. sorry for straying off topic.
