wifi sync

so i noticed that even my ip4 with ios 5 appears in itunes even when not connected to a power cord (charging).. its list on the left.. and the litttle wheel thing spins like its syncing.. is this possible?

Yes, if it was syncing and disconnected before finishing it will continue till it's done or drops from the network, additionally you can manually prompt a wireless sync from either device without being connected to power.

i though - was told the sync was auto so why would i want to prompt a manual wireless sync?

i dont mean to be dumb but not sure i get the first part.
