So 2011 13" MBA. 10.10 with most current update. When I close the lid to put it to sleep and then come back and wake it up, 95% of the time the wifi does not reconnect. I have to manually point to the network again to have it connect even though it shows in the list. Anyone found a fix?

Yes you have to do four things (in order):

1. Open System Preferences->Network tab, Advanced button, and in the 'Wi-Fi' mini-tab delete all the saved Locations and your Home Location. The close System Preferences.

2. Close down all Wi-Fi connections.

3. Navigate to the folder /Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access.app and delete all the saved passwords your have for your Home wireless network.

4. Restart while doing a SMC Reset. Then rejoin your wireless network and re-save your password.

Is this the official work around. It sounds a bit excessive to have to delete every single saved network key in your laptop. Does keychain save these as well?

I have the same issue as you. My rec is wait till the DP3 or Beta 1 but don't mess with the settings. Only do it if it's a MONSTER pain in the ass OR whatever the next incarnation of Yosemite doesn't address it.

No but it seems to work in a lot of cases. Keychain Saved Password is the saved Location for some passwords that might get cache corrupted especially if you connect to numerous access points.

I actually had this problem in Mavericks on my 2011 MBA 13" - however since installing 10.10 DP1 (and DP2) the problem has been resolved for me.

It seems to be working so far after doing those things. I never was able to find any reference to my wifi network at all in Key Chain oddly. Thanks for the help and I will report back if it comes back again haha

Keychain was Step 1.

Now Step 2 :

Go to : Macintosh HD / Library / Preferences.

Move the "SystemConfiguration" folder to the trash.

Restart the computer (a new folder will be created).

Connect to your wifi network.

(have a look again in Keychains : you should have an entry for your wifi network : delete it).

This worked 90 percent for me but I had to keep one file from the old "SystemConfiguration" and place it into the new one. That file is "com.apple.Boot.plist" Without that file my Air was really not working very well. Once i restored that file, it went back to being good and this fix addressed the wifi problem. thanx!

Still no go after deleting the folder as well as the new key chain entry. Then reconnecting and entering password. When the mac wakes up I have to click the wifi icon and click my network and then it reconnects without asking for password as it should but I have to do this every time it wakes up. Doesn't happen on the other partition with mavericks :)

Just in case... repair the permissions in Disk Utility (yes I *might* be useful for wifi issues).

Then restart.

Other than that (permissions + Keychain + SystemConfiguration folder) I have no more idea.
