will a pulse rx550 4gb fit in xserve 2,1 ? Anyone done this yet ? I wanna upgrade the 2,1 Xserve to Mojave.

Isn't the RX550 an AMD card? I thought the Xserve2,1 was approximately equivalent to the MacPro3,1, which can't take any CPUs that support SSE4.1, which is what the AMD drivers require in Mojave. I think you'd be better off with an nVidia card from macvidcards if you really want to run Mojave smoothly...

Just saw a single slot rx.. really just looking for a metal capable single slot gpu that will fit..

Well, even if it fits, if the OS can't use it because of driver issues, doesn't it defeat the purpose of getting it?

I think the best Metal single-slot that works for the Xserve2,1 and Mojave would be the GTX640 from MacVidCards.

Yeah righto.. thanks for the heads up... I’ve used no Mac efi cards in other macs and had zero issues outside of no boot screen...cheers!
