ive been a little curious as to if either the apple store online or local along with amazon accept a debit card as a valid form of payment?

i think this will make my buying decision quicker and easier in the long run.

Thanks in advance!

Debit/Credit...thought it didn't matter as long as they got their money... It's still a Visa/MC right?

yeah it has a mc sticker on it.
so if i can use it i might be getting my mac sooner than i thought

You can use your card at every store that accepts MC. However for a bigger purchase it might be a good idea to contact your friendly bank.
Due to the fact that some debit cards have a daily spending limit (with or without MC/Visa sticker).

Just make sure you don't have a daily maximum. With some of them, you can only withdraw ~$300 a day, no matter how much you have in there.

Edit: ah, alexstein beat me to it.

Some banks will allow a one time bump for major purchases, or a permeant increase in the limit. For myself, I would ask for a one time bump.

I say you should just try it and see. It's probably the most reliable and accurate source of information in this case.

<grammar nazi>The companies will accept the card, not except it </grammar nazi>

So how does on know when it is a misspelling, verses bad use of grammar?

As far as stores are concerned, a Visa or MC card is a Visa or MC card, no matter whether credit or debit. I bought a dual 2.5 G5 from Amazon last year using a debit card, but I went to the bank first and got the limit raised. From what I gather, it would have worked anyway even if I didn't, but the purchase would have been flagged as suspicious activity (because of the amount), had I not notified the bank. So who knows what I would have had to go through.

I'll just redirect you to this and its "sequel". Note: Contains strong language.
