My kid love ipad mini so much and she using it ipad mini 4th = 3 yrs already , i looking new version coming if apple release >>>

currently i have ipad air 2 and mini 4th

will buy new ipad pro + new mini if this come true :)

I sincerely hope so for the folks that really like them.

I went from an IP3 down to an IP Mini and absolutely loved it. Great size, easy to hold, perfect for reading book on, etc.

Eventually things just got too small for my aging eyes and I’ve moved to the 12.9" IP Pro. Certainly bigger but I do a lot more writing, photo manipulation, drawing, etc., so it’s now more useful. I can see and read full pages of the old "Creepy" and "Errie" magazines on it, too! Nice nostalgia.

But I do miss the convenience of the mini for many things. Hope they keep it. If nothing else, maybe you can still get a refurb from the Apple Store. That’s where I got my mini and it worked and looked perfectly allthe years I had it until I traded it in. I’ve bought 3 things from the refurb store and all have/continue to run perfectly.

As another lover of the iPad mini , I hope so. But it doesn’t look good. I have heard no rumors & seen zero leaks of a new iPad mini. The iPad mini 4 is over 3 yrs old now. It’s the only iPad without support for the Apple Pencil. You’d think Apple would be embarrassed by this, and at least give it a minor spec bump. But no. Maybe Apple thinks the new 6.5” iPhone XS Max is the new iPad mini. I dunno. Personally, I would love to see an iPad mini with slimmer bezels and pencil support. I think it’s the perfect size iPad for travel which is why I own one. But mine is getting old and i need to update soon.

I think our last hope for an iPad mini update will be Spring of 2019 when the regular 9.7” iPad gets an update. If not, then I think the iPad mini will be officially discontinued. Perhaps Apple will shrink the bezels on the 9.7” iPad making it the new mini? Who knows.

I can’t wait that long to find out tho. I will be traveling soon, and need a new iPad with more power for video & photo editing as well as drawing. So I’m definitely gonna buy one of the new 11” iPad Pros when they are released in a few weeks. Goodbye iPad mini. It’s been fun.

Creepy & Eerie magazine. Cool! My brother used to collect Creepy & I used to collect Eerie. Memories. I hear what you’re saying about the 12.9” screen. My eyes are good, but content sure looks great on it. Still, I think i’m gonna go with the new 10.5”(11” with slimmer bezels) for the portability. Although I am curious how much smaller the new 12.9” will be with slimmer bezels. It may be a toss up. May have to see them in person before I decide.

OFF TOPIC: there’s a handful of Creepy and Errie available for download on the Internet Archive as PDFs. I bought the entire archive on DVD of Famous Monsters of Filmland off eBay for like $25. Each magazine as a separate pdf.

Good luck on whatever you decide, enjoy!

I would hope so, but owning a 2018 iPad made me realize I need a Pro for the additional RAM. So unless they make a smaller iPP, I am sadly going to have to go with the 11” iPP when it’s on sale.

Or yes. We have no idea.

That said I wouldn’t expect much. If they do an iPad Mini 5 it will likely be more in line with the Spring 2018 iPad. No OLED, no Face ID, no 4K support. Maybe a chip set that can support the Pencil and if the pricing has dropped perhaps a bump to 256 on the storage.

No, it's still no. The question was about Apple bringing back the iPad mini this fall. The answer is clearly no on that. We haven't see any knowledge of it, in beta code, in the model #'s being registered, nothing. We would have some knowledge of an iPad mini if it were coming. I also don't think Apple plans on releasing any more new iOS devices without Face ID.

Hey! I could totally be wrong apparently as Kuo just said he expects an updated mini. That's great for you and all those who wanted one. Definitely unexpected on my part, but I have no problem admitting when I am wrong.

Refreshing to see that DNichter and hopeful for those who like the mini. I'm struggling with the 12.9 vs 11 inch myself. Still don't know if smaller ipad will be 11 inch screen or smaller form factor with 10.5 screen. Seems like the 12.9 will be smaller form factor though

Ming’s latest bombshell about the ipad mini 5 actually coming soon was welcome news indeed for this ipad mini lover. But it does raise many questions too. At least for me. Will it have Apple pencil support? (Hopefully) Will it have slimmer bezels & face ID (unlikely according to rumors).

I have posted many times how i love my dying ipad mini 2. How it is my favorite travel device. That has not changed. But i’ve also gotten into more and heavier video editing as well as digital drawing.

So i definitely plan to buy one of the new ipad pros. Was leaning towards the 10.5” for more portability.

But now that this ipad mini news has dropped, i may actually get the new 12.9” as my main art creating device, and one of these rumored ipad mini 5 ipads for a travel ipad when i wanna go light.

Or at least that is my thinking now.

As the mini 2 is effectively the mini equivalent of the air, are we presuming this new mini of the rumours would use that chassis, just with an A10 or A11 chip? I must say I was surprised to hear this out of the blue; but then if it is the same design as has been used previously I suppose there’s little really to leak! Certainly the 2017 iPad had very few before it’s debut...

True. I don’t expect this mini to get the pro treatment. But I do hope it gets pencil support. Gonna be interesting to see how they price it next to the 2018 9.7” iPad. Guess we will find out soon enough.

I’m a big advocate for the 12.9 + mini combo. 10.5 works for many but some tasks are too compromised on the middle-sized device.

As a Pilot, the iPad mini is the perfect size for the cockpit. The iPhone is way to small to display maps and charts, The regular iPad is way too big for the size of the cockpit and it blocks my flight instruments.

The iPad mini is perfect.

Absolutely! New iPad Mini 5! Cannot wait to order it with the new A12 and 4GB RAM and LTE!

I don’t see why they wouldn’t include pencil support - it’s a minimal outlay that opens the door for them to sell a $100 accessory! I don’t think they have a huge amount of scope to go lower on the price - perhaps it will also start at $329 but for 64GB memory? Kinda like the MacBook and ntb MBP with the former being $1,299 for 256 and the latter the same price but you trade off only having 128GB

IF there is a new iPad mini (regular 5) it will be at a spring event... but if they do any kind of redesign, I imagine it will get a few minutes at the October Event, or again... more likely I imagine the spring event will let the mini and new 2019 9.7" iPad shine there... IMO.
