Like for example what you set on your iPhone is set on your iPad for the same app?

Not sure what you mean. I have quite a few apps that keep data and settings in sync across my iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro and iMac, either through iCloud, Dropbox, or Onedrive.

I think he means if you change a setting in say the stock mail app it doesnt then transfer automatically to other devices. Other examples include messages whereby if you get one message on your phone and it also delivered to your ipad, then they do not sync when you delete it from one device to another. You have to delete it manually for both devices.
