Will Apple exchange for a Dead Pixel?

I have a 24" Aluminum iMac from mid-2007. I had my hard drive replaced last summer. My Apple Care coverage ends this October.

I'd like to know that if a single or a couple dead pixels appeared today on my display, would Apple take it and change my display or exchange the whole machine or something like that? I looked around on the Apple site and i didn't find anything that talked about how far Apple will go to remedy a certain situation.

there is an allowance of dead/stuck pixles that are deemed acceptable in manufacturing used by apple

1 dead pixel will not warrant a new display or anything.

I had a piece of dust in my aluminum MacBook. I took it in, and they replaced the screen. That was a 1-week process.
Of course, the dust was a freak. Dead pixels usually aren't replaced by any manufacturer until there is a set amount of them on the screen. You could always go in there tell them about how your AppleCare will run out soon, and you want to get it fixed before it does.

When i got my iMac it had what appeared to be a cluster of dead pixels in the centre of the screen so i sent it back for repair. Turned out it was actually a 'manufacturing defect' with the outer glass panel. I was told that normally apple do not cover the outer glass panel but they would because its brand new and a 'manufacturing defect'.

You will have to send it to Apple and they will have a look, if its the outer glass panel i guess it will cost you, if there isn't enough of them that are dead then again it will cost you otherwise apple should replace it. My panel replacement took about a week (but i had to get the cost of the panel wavered as it shouldn't be covered).
