Just wondering if I have a problem downloading Mountain Lion on my computer will a call to Apple help? I mean without having apple care anymore would they help if I have a problem with the download? Would I still be able to call them for help and advice or not if something goes wrong with the download and the install? Just wondering about that.
thanks for a reply 

1. Backup, backup, backup.
2. Make sure you have a backup that works.
3. Download ML from the app store. (If in the very unlikely event that your download fails, I've had great post-warranty support from the iTunes store team.
4a. Install ML - if in the extremely unlikely event that fails, just restore from your backup.
4b. Try again (repeat steps 1-4)
5. ???
6. Profit.
