Got an extension cable through amazon for $1.43 shipped.... no complaints at all other than I should have got a matching white color

I use the extension cable that came with my Mac keyboard...has a thing that is supposed to block just any USB from plugging into it but if you plug it in at an angle it works perfect and matches perfect too

MacAlly now sells one. I just ordered it. The knock off ones work but don't do audio and the one I got fits really tightly and I'm afraid to use it.

Apple really should consider making longer cables. And just ordered the extension cable. Thanks.

griffith makes one you can get at Target that is long and comes in black

In my opinion apple needs to make 3" and 6" lengths in both white and black colors. That would satisfy 90% of the cable market and eliminate the need to buy 3rd party cables

IMO I don't see the issue with things the way they are. If you need longer cables there are accessory makers offering them.

The problem is the accessory makers connectors do not fit in most cases. Can you explain to me why logically a belkin cable cannot work with a belkin case for example?

I think that would really annoy a lot of people!!

I had this same concern with a Griffin case and car charger. I had an issue with one of them and in the email I sent I asked why their own products didn't fit together as expected.

They said I had an older version. They replaced the defective item and sent me a newer version of the other. After that everything worked great.

Then I decided to just leave my iPhone naked. :D

Any chance you could take a pic comparing the Griffin connector to the oem lightning?

Got my Macally one. Really nice. Connector is the same size as the Apple one so it fits in my Lifeproof case. Well made with a thick cable. Should hold up for a long time.

Mine was $26.74 with shipping. Not bad considering it's $19 for an Apple cable.

Griffin has a 3meter one now. The connector is slim enough to fit an element case, so it should work with just about anything I would think.
