Will Apple Music ever add a 'lossless' tier?

I admit it, I'm "old" (42). I still buy CD's and rip them to my Mac. I normally use FLAC or ALAC, depending on where I plan on playing the file back. However, I do love the convenience of just having all (most) of the titles I own already and millions of others right at my fingertips. I just hate that the presentation is at 256 kbps.

My family uses Apple Music, we have since the launch day, pretty much. And I... never use it, or rarely do. But lately I think I've gotten more intrigued by the idea of letting go of "my files" keeping them in storage and just exclusively using cloud based music service. I trialed TIDAL for a month and was very impressed by the lossless streaming and even more impressive were the MQA (not trying to start a controversy) titles.

Apple has started supporting 4K in their film library, Dolby Atmos soundtracks and yet the music side is still not where it could be.

Might they at least consider a lossless tier at sometime in the near future? Certainly, I know the market for it would be much smaller than the general subscription but if the files are already in place (assuming they are); why not just offer it?

Certainly I'm not the only one that sees the benefit in such a thing? .

I'd like something like that but until the issues around playing high res files wirelessly are sorted I don't think it'll happen.

There is no need for lossless until listening devices, headphones, hi-fi and even the industry itself start moving on to more high fidelity gear. Listening to music on tiny little earpods doesn't create a market for lossless to hear the difference. I'm sure it will happen one day but not at the moment.
What we do have at the moment is easy of use, access and a choice of anything you want at your fingertips. That's quite remarkable

That makes absolutely no sense.

HiFi streams at 44.1 kHz /16 bit. Selected 'Master' enabled albums even stream at 96 kHz / 24 bit. This has nothing to do with genre whatsoever.

Even regular Tidal Premium streams at 320kbps AAC while AM streams at 256kbps AAC.
