I read on a different thread that if you go to an Apple store and they see any visible dents in the phone they wont replace or repair it. I dropped mine in January and there is a small dent in the top left corner which only visible if you look for it.

It was only today that my phone broke, so obviously the drop back in January was not the cause of my problems. But are they going to give me a hard time because my phone has one dink on it?

how can he ever prove that it's not due to the drop?

but i don't think they'll refuse you service because you dropped it.

i think abuse and a one time accident are two different things

abuse:
# mistreat: treat badly
# maltreatment
# misuse: improper or excessive use
# use wrongly or improperly or excessively

nowhere is abuse defined with a number of instances

just because you only dropped it once doesn't mean it's apple's fault you broke it, why should they lose money because of something you did?

that's like purchasing a new car and wrapping it around a telephone pole and bringing it back because you only crashed it once

I'd go with an insurance policy. I think State Farm will insure something like an iPhone for $30 per year (depending on age and other factors).

Well, I had a dent on the corner of mine and they replaced it with no problem.
I was having other problems with it. The power button was depressed making it difficult to turn on or off.

You have to prove that your problem is not due to the dink.

Strange, in Europe it's the other way around (at least in the first 6 month after you bought the phone). The USA are a paradise for companies...
