Apple have just refreshed the iPadPro but changed very little. Is this a bump and they will release another later in the year, or is this it for another 1.5years like last time?

Some claim there’s another update in fall, others see that in about a year.

It’s a bit tricky to predict these things right now in the middle of a health crisis that shakes up customers as well as the supply chain.

I’m going with no. How long has this new iPad been rumored ? Since last sept. Then maybe before the holidays, and here we are. I’d say if you need it get it, if you have last gen problem not.

This question is pointless as nobody outside of Apple really knows.
Given the situation not even Apple might know yet... Having said that, I would not bet on 18 months this time, even if the original plans (October 2020) are pushed forward it may be anytime between the end of the year and the beginning of 2021. An Ipad pro 2020 that comes with basicaly the same CPU as the 2018 one is mainly there to fill the 18 months gap, rather than a full new generation, in order to avoid that people stop buying the 3rd gen while waiting for the new one... so another one after 6-12 months, where only the CPU and cellular is upgraded makes absolute sense, especially as A14(X), which will allow 5G, is not ready yet, while competitors like Samsung are already offering 5G...

Rumor has it the iPhone 12 is delayed due to COVID-19, so I can’t imagine Apple would drop another new iPad later this year. Then again no one really knows.

I think it’s mildly possible that the next generation was originally slated to ship in October/November, after the iPhones in September. However, with all this commotion going on I think it’s far more likely that the iPhones launch in October/November and the 5G A14X mini-LED iPad Pros ship in March 2021. Just a hunch, though.
