My girlfriend has the rev. A macbook black version. She went against my advice and bought it a long time ago. Anyway:

Her battery has completely died twice already in the past year. Died meaning that the macbook does not turn on without being plugged into the outlet.

I have an appointment at the genius bar tomorrow with her at the local SOHO apple store. Anybody think they will replace it this time or just toss another battery at her? It is obviously a computer problem and not a battery problem, so any thoughts??

(she should have waited for the SR MBP like me!! :D:D)

i know here in florida its three repairs before its covered by lemon law, not sure about anywhere else though, i doubt they will give you a new computer though

When it would not turn on without being plugged into an outlet, did you happen to see what condition the battery was in with coconut battery? And I doubt that they will give you a new computer, they will likely only replace the battery.

yeah the health of the battery is like -539293729372 (or some ridiculous negative number like that) according to istat pro. ive never had a problem with any of my macs ever, never even had to visit the genius bar so i dunno how apple deals with these things. but this is the second time this happens to her rev a blackbook.

Rev. A's are always a little iffy, as nobody has been there to work out all the kinks. Maybe they just have a load of bad batteries, or it could be a BlackBook problem... if that, they'll actually repair it, if not, new MB. Heh, no 5th Ave, prolly too crowded. Well, we'll see what's up with it... prolly the MB or a bad component, not likely the battery.
