Hi all,
I want to buy the Apple TV but I'd first like to make sure it will work with both mine and my wife's iPads. We have 2 completely separate iTunes accounts so I'm not sure if it would work. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

First they must be iPad 2. I only have 1 iPad so can't say for sure but I believe you can AirPlay from any iPad 2 to any ATV. I think you also need the new iOS 5 for AirPlay. You can also use an HDMI cable now. Again with iPad 2.

I have the ipad 2, she will have the iphone 5 when it comes out and we both want to use airplay. is this possible with one AppleTV?
I went to a friends house who had AppleTV and couldnt get my ipad 2 connected. He said it would only work on his because it was connected to his itunes account. it seemed dumb to me that the AppleTV only works with one itunes account.

I am traveling so I can not test. Maybe someone else will answer.

I think you just need access to the wifi network. Apple's "Home Sharing" requires an iTunes user ID and password. However, I just verified on my iPad 1 (running iOS 4.3.2) that AirPlay works without Home Sharing enabled. The same goes for my iPhone 4.

It probably didn't work in your friend's house because you weren't logged into his wifi network.

Yes, both home sharing and AirPlay work from my and my wife's iPad II. We also have separate iTunes accounts. I would hold off until Tuesday though to buy one on the off chance an ATV3 is announced - slim to no chance of that happening but never know.
