I have heard of some stories that AT&T charging people for excesive data usage. This is due from people tethering their iPhones to their laptops. Has anybody been caught using Pdanet 1.40? I also heard that the way AT&T catches you is because no default app like Youtube, Safari, App Store, iTunes Store, and Mail do not use a significant amount of data in the background. So if they see that you have been using a lot of data without any of these apps opened they will charge you? Can anyone confirm this?

unlimited means less than 5 gigs

just dont go over that

as far as im aware, att cant tell what apps you are using. soomeone correct me if im wrong

I just hope when AT&T comes out with the new plans that include tethering it will not make it easier for them to catch me and charge another $30.
